Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
Public records requests made more than a year ago for Sarah Palin’s e-mails still haven’t been filled by the state, and the Alaska Democratic Party chairwoman alleges it’s an attempt to bury the past.
“I think they’re hiding something, I think this is a travesty of justice,” state Democratic Party Chairwoman Patti Higgins said Wednesday. “The law says they have 10 days to do it.”
Public records in Alaska are generally supposed to be provided within 10 days, although the state can extend the deadline for more complicated requests.
State officials say this is no cover-up, but rather a case of massive requests that have overwhelmed the state’s resources. Assistant Attorney General David Jones said the 11 largest public-records requests from last year remain unfilled; most of them, he said, require the review of between 2,900 and 30,000 documents.

International Republican Institute
According to an Associated Press article from October 2007, Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s time as chairman of the International Republican Institute connected him to a wide range of international interests. We now know this included Columbia University Professor Rashid Khalidi, whom the McCain-Palin campaign is smearing in the press in an attempt to dissuade Americans from voting for presidential candidate Barack Obama. Additionally, McCain and the IRI had a long list of corporate donors, including Blackwater USA, the paramilitary security firm responsible for killing 11 innocent Iraqi civilians, investment bank Lehman Bros., corporate lobbying firms and big oil companies such as Chevron, ExxonMobil and BP.

ABC News has just reported that following yesterday’s conviction of Alaska Senator Ted Stevens on seven counts of corruption, Governor Sarah Palin is now calling for his resignation from the US Senate.

The interesting obervations from the Guardian.co.uk Oliver Burkeman’s CampaignDiary Blog, along with the video is a fun way to remind your friends of how important each of their votes are to the future of our great nation.
As a big fan of ingenious large-scale operations to influence votes in American elections by means of letter-writing campaigns, etcetera, I can’t help but love this witty video from MoveOn.org, which you can adapt so that it features someone you know as the person who lost the election for Barack Obama by failing to vote. Of course, the joke only really works if your friend’s an American citizen with the right to vote, but as I (and one or two commenters) have explained before on this blog, if you’re not an American citizen you have no business being interested in the American elections in the first place, and also you have bad teeth.

Republican vice-presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska.
Just for the record, I asked an intern to go back and double fact-check the twelve documented lies that Sarah Palin has told on the public record. These are not hyperbolic claims or rhetorical excess. They are assertions of fact that are demonstrably untrue and remain uncorrected. Every single one of the lies I documented holds up after several news cycles have had a chance to vet them even further.
I know the MSM demands that we move on from the fact that someone who could be president next January has a list of public lies so extensive and indisputable that the McCain campaign has still not been able to rebut or even address any one of them, while fencing her off from the press and refusing to hold a press conference to clear the air on so many murky questions of fact that get to the core of whether this person is fit to be vice-president or president.
So for the record, let it be known that the candidate for vice-president for the GOP is a compulsive, repetitive, demonstrable liar. If you follow the links, here is the proof. I repeat: proof:
